DESCRIPTION:\nDear colleagues,\n\n\n\nThe Association of Consulting Engineers of Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize The 12th Congress on Transport and Transport Infrastructure dedicated to railways. The meeting will be held in Sarajevo on 11 and 12 May 2023.\n\n\n\nThe Congress is taking place at the time of global revitalization of railways as an acceptable solution in the fight against climate change. As part of the transport solution, railways are a key component of development in any society. Europe’s railway sector is faced with challenges that are slowing down its development. These are the fragmentation of European railways and poor efficiency, flexibility, and reliability.The third Pan-European Transport Conference held in Helsinki in 1997 saw the adoption of the European transport corridor network. This was the foundation for the establishment of the single European railway area, which facilitates growth of the railway transport sector.Through its railways development policy, the EU supports the realization of connective, sustainable, inclusive, and safe mobility. The EU railways policy is being implemented through a series of funding programs for strategic investment projects in the railway sector.The Congress has an international character.
