Poštovane kolegice i kolege,
Udruženje konsultanata inženjera Bosne i Hercegovine organizuje 5. Kongres o vodama, koji će
se održati 18. i 19. juna 2026. godine u Sarajevu.
Ne postoji mnogo resursa o kojima čovječanstvo zavisi u toj mjeri kao što zavisi o vodi. Voda čini između 60 i 75 % ljudskog tijela. Njen nedostatak dovodi do ozbiljnih zdravstvenih posljedica i ugrožava sam život. Ipak, iako je voda svuda oko nas, sve je jasnije da pristup kvalitetnoj vodi više nije siguran. Neodgovarajuće upravljanje vodama, uz sve izraženije klimatske promjene, izazivaju krizu vode.
Uz nedostatak pitke vode, posljedice su sve češće i intenzivnije poplave, suše, požari i degradacija ekosistema. Ekstremni hidrološki događaji ugrožavaju živote i zdravlje ljudi, infrastrukturu, ekonomiju i biodiverzitet.
Istovremeno, voda je i ključni dio rješenja za prilagođavanje klimatskim promjenama i njihovo ublažavanje. Održivo upravljanje vodnim resursima jača otpornost društava i ekosistema, smanjuje rizik od katastrofa, štiti javno zdravlje i doprinosi smanjenju emisija stakleničkih gasova.
U tom kontekstu, 5. Kongres o vodama ima za cilj okupiti stručnjake, naučne radnike, donositelje odluka, predstavnike institucija, privatnog sektora i civilnog društva, kako bi se razmijenila znanja, iskustva i inovativna rješenja za upravljanje vodama.
Kao i prethodni, i 5. Kongres o vodama će pružiti prostor za interdisciplinarni dijalog, umrežavanje i jačanje saradnje na nacionalnom, regionalnom i internacionalnom nivou.

5th BH WATER CONGRESS
Dear Colleagues,
The Association of Consulting Engineers of Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing the 5th Water Congress, which will be held on June 18–19th, 2026, in Sarajevo.
There are few resources on which humanity depends as much as it depends on water. Water makes up between 60 and 75% of the human body. Its lack leads to serious health consequences and threatens life itself. Yet, although water is all around us, it is becoming increasingly clear that access to quality water is no longer guaranteed.
Inadequate water management, combined with increasingly evident climate change, is causing a water crisis. In addition to the scarcity of drinking water, the consequences are increasingly frequent and severe floods, droughts, wildfires, and ecosystem degradation. Extreme hydrological events threaten human lives and health, infrastructure, the economy, and biodiversity. At the same time, water is also a key part of the solution for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Sustainable water management strengthens the resilience of societies and ecosystems, reduces disaster risk, protects public health, and contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In this context, the 5th Water Congress aims to bring together experts, researchers, decision-makers, representatives of institutions, the private sector, and civil society to exchange knowledge, experience, and innovative solutions for water management.
Like its predecessors, the 5th Water Congress will provide a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, networking, and strengthening cooperation at the national, regional, and international levels.
